K.M. Jackson is a Houston-born writer, editor, proofreader, and published author whose work spans creative fiction, nonfiction, women’s literature, fantasy, mystery, gothic, and ethno-gothic genres. She holds an MFA in Popular Fiction Writing and Publishing from Emerson College, where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA.
During her time at Emerson, K.M. contributed feature articles, op-eds, and genre-focused essays to Page Turner Magazine, including pieces on horror, gothic storytelling, and the craft of writing dark, character-driven fiction. Her editorial work and critical commentary helped shape the magazine’s voice and supported emerging writers across multiple genres.
Her current work-in-progress, Evangeline, began as her MFA thesis and has since expanded into a full-length feminist gothic fantasy novel. The first ten chapters were completed for her graduate thesis; she is now developing the next ten chapters as she builds the manuscript into the first book of a larger series.
K.M.’s debut nonfiction title, Dating in the Age of Narcissism: A Single Woman’s Survival Guide (Palmetto Publishing Group, 2016), reflects her early career in journalism, relationship writing, and cultural commentary. Her writing has appeared in One Love Caribbean News, Incline Magazine, and The Real Single Ladies of Houston, where she led editorial strategy, interviewed public figures, and produced widely read features and columns.
With professional experience in manuscript evaluation, developmental editing, and publication-ready content creation, K.M. brings both literary and psychological insight to her work—supported by her ongoing graduate studies in psychology at Capella University. Her multidisciplinary training informs her nuanced approach to character development, worldbuilding, and narrative structure across fiction and nonfiction.
She has been featured on KCOH 1230 AM, KPFT 90.1 FM, and iHeartRadio, and continues to build a body of work rooted in genre storytelling, women’s voices, and imaginative world-shaping. K.M. lives in The Woodlands, Texas, with her daughter, Savannah, and her miniature pinscher, Willow.
